Trekking Inclusions

- Tents; cooking equipment; ropes; safety equipment; communication equipment (including satellite phone); etc
- eXtreme Cuisine (TM) nutritionally balanced energy appropriate meals and snacks
- Our Spirit provides local fruit and vegetables to supplement evening trek meals as well as daily food packs. Here's an example of our food pack includions: breakfast cereals, muesli bars, cheese and biscuits, fish, tortillas, noodles, tea, coffee and hot chocolate and a few treats to keep you motivated.
- New sleeping bag and mat (for you to keep or donate to your legends on completion)
- Personal eating utensils - bowl, cup, knife, fork and spoon

Support Crew - Local Legends
Important: Our Spirit support crew ratio is 1 local legend for every 2 trekkers which enables us to ensure your safety and provide you with the best support and cultural experience on the track .
- Group Guides provide essential local knowledge and safe passage across the Black Cat Trail
- Group Porters carry food supplies and group expedition equipment
- Group Cook prepares all trek meals and assists with group porter duties
- Includes meals and return airfare for all support crew - local legends

Supplied/provided by participant (at own expense):
- Pre trek preparation - a doctor’s clearance to verify that the participant is physically fit to complete the trek (certification not required by Our Spirit)
- Malarial medication
- Basic personal first-aid kit (detailed in participant guide)
- Passport and visa (obtain on arrival at Port Moresby airport - currently $50 AUD)
- Personal expenses in Port Moresby
- Excess Baggage (limit of 20kg allowed)
- Personal porter to carry your backpack during the trek ($520 AUD - includes meals and return airfare for porter) can be booked prior to departure if required
- Personal trekking gear (including boots and appropriate clothing)
- Additional fresh local fruit and vegetables can be purchased from villagers if desired.
IMPORTANT:
Our Spirit Pty Ltd holds current public liability insurance and maintains comprehensive risk management procedures for all our adventures as part of our standard business practice.
It is recommended that each person joining the party be physically prepared by the time of departure. An exercise program, including training walks and nutritional advice are included in the program.
There are several sessions within the program that require training with full packs, (that is the backpack and all equipment you intend to use on the trek). By wearing or breaking in your hiking boots, you will minimise the risk of blisters and unnecessary sweat problems if they can be addressed prior to commencing the trek.
